Ingredients:
• One container of lip balm holds approximately 5.32 ml/5.10 g.
• 8 g beeswax or candelilla wax
• 8 g coconut oil
• 5 g shea butter or cocoa butter
• 5 g jojoba oil (infused with vanilla)
• 1 drops of Stevia
- Prepare Vanilla-Infused Oil:
- Split and scrape 1-2 vanilla beans to release the seeds.
- Combine the beans and seeds with your carrier oil (e.g., almond, coconut, or jojoba oil) in a heat-safe jar.
- Warm the jar in a double boiler or water bath on low heat for 1-2 hours. Stir occasionally.
- Strain the oil using a fine mesh or cheesecloth to remove vanilla solids.
- Melt the Base Ingredients:
- In a double boiler, melt 2 tablespoons of beeswax pellets or vegan wax alternative.
- o Add 8 grams of coconut oil, 5 grams of shea butter or cocoa butter for added hydration, and 5 grams of infused jojoba oil. Stir until fully blended.
- Add Essential Oils (Optional):
- Once removed from heat, if desired, add 2-3 drops of complementary essential oil (e.g. lavender, orange, or peppermint).
- Stir gently to incorporate.
- Pour and Set:
- Pour the mixture into small tins or lip balm tubes.
- Allow them to cool and harden completely (about 1-2 hours) at room temperature or in the fridge.
- Label and Store:
- Add creative labels to your containers for a polished look!
- Store in a cool, dry place to keep them fresh.
