Lotion bars are very convenient when traveling and for everyday use. A lotion bar fits perfectly in your purse of bag. If you love handmade and natural products, you will enjoy this super simple recipe. You can easily make it in your kitchen. I like this recipe because it does not feel oily when apply to the skin. You can easily add essential oils to add a natural fragrance to your lotion. Natural lotion bars replace conventional lotions that may have unwanted ingredients. Making your own lotion bars ensures that they are:
- Natural ingredients
- Free of synthetic fragrances
- Free of synthetic dyes
- Non-toxic
The combination of beeswax and coconut oil ensures you will have a hydrated and healthy skin. The lotion melts and glides easily upon contact with the skin. It is a highly conditioning lotion bar with many properties. Beeswax is a natural ingredient that helps moisturize, protect, and improve the skin. It is used in a wide variety of products from creams, soaps, lipsticks, mascaras, and solid perfumes. Beeswax creates a protective barrier that keeps the skin moisturized.
Coconut oil has moisturizing properties and helps keep the skin hydrated.
The utensils we will need are:
- A double-cooker
- A spatula
- A deodorant container that slides
Ingredients: - 2 tablespoons of beeswax
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 15 drops of essential oils
Put the beeswax in a double boiler to melt. Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute or two to add the essential oils. I used lavender essential oil which I love, patchouli essential oil and Clary sage essential oil. You can use the essential oils of your preference. After adding the essential oils, continue to fill the containers for the bars. Let the bars cool down for at least two hours. You can put the bars in the refrigerator to speed up the process. If you have round molds you can also use this recipe to make bars without a container.

Essential oils are best preserved when added at the right temperature. High temperatures may damage the essential oils properties. I also added a teaspoon of calendula petals to this bar, but it is optional. Some people do not like the texture of the petals on the lotion bar.
I hope you enjoy your new lotion bar, take it with you wherever you go.
If this is your first time creating a lotion bar, I congratulate you. You have just started a wonderful journey in the natural cosmetic world.
